Town Hall #2
Posted by Samira Rajan on Feb 25 2023

Brooklyn Coop’s Town Hall/ teach-in on how to interpret financial statements happened this past Thursday at the Dekalb branch. Amanda and I organized it as a Paint and Sip, setting up both creativity and community-building. It was great fun!
First we munched on pizza as we each painted our interpretations of our chosen theme (community) and common elements for the paintings (a sun, a raised fist, a heart). Some gorgeous work was produced. Next, I spoke for about 45 minutes on how to view an Income Statement and Balance Sheet, and how certain critical ratios allow a reader to determine the strengths and vulnerabilities of a typical credit union.
