Can’t Stop, Won’t Stop

At the end of 2022, we announced to you all that there would be major changes in 2023. We were readying for a complete overhaul of our data systems, with the goal of offering more online services for members, and better analytics to support further deposit and loan growth.  We were also constructing a 3rd branch location in East New York, to be located in a new affordable housing development called Chestnut Commons. 

 

Dear members, it happened!  This past year was transformative.  Our Chestnut branch is now adding 25 new accounts each month, and introducing hundreds of local ENY residents to accessible and affordable financial services.  Our transition to Symitar was seamless, and the associated benefits like digital wallets and contactless cards have come online in quick succession during the year. Somehow we even found time for some much-needed maintenance to the Myrtle branch.

 

Yet, it isn’t over.  In early 2024, Bk Coop will see another transformation.  The Bed-Stuy branch will relocate to 349 Nostrand Avenue.  Once our lease expires at Dekalb, our last day of member service will occur on Saturday Feb 3.  From there, after a few more weeks of construction, Bed-Stuy members can find us at the corner of Nostrand and Gates Avenue, a busy intersection with more public transit options, much closer to the Fulton Street corridor. Mindful that we live in a world traumatized by ongoing violence, Bk Coop and its staff are grateful for the safety and wellbeing of our family, including the blessings of two newborns among our staff this year!   To each of our members we wish a peaceful and restful holiday season.
